Before I began training with Lisa, I was 150lbs 19 year old at 5’4. I was never involved in sports or much physical activity growing up. I was one of the kids in P.E. class making up any excuse to not run laps, I had barely any coordination and dreaded feeling sweaty and out of breathe. In high school I thought I was eating generally healthy but what I thought I knew about nutrition and food choices is a night and day difference from what I know now. In university, I decided to become a vegetarian, at first I lost 15 pounds, but after a few months I ended up gaining almost double that. Having to study was my number one excuse to not working out, and I honestly thought that if I just ate “healthy” for the most part that I would be fine. After gaining more weight after my fresh man year, bringing me to 150 pounds, I decided it was time to start exercising. I got a gym membership and, like every other girl, stuck to the cardio machines. After a few inconsistent months, I was seeing no results and was extremely frustrated, that’s when I decided it was time to get serious about my health. I began training with Lisa at body zone fitness in June of 2012, and this decision, without a doubt, has been one of the best decisions of my life. From day one Lisa has shown me unconditional support and has always pushed me to work my hardest. It only took me a few weeks to notice major changes in my body and energy levels. I was losing weight, building endurance and aside from physical changes, I had tons of energy throughout my day which made focusing in school much easier. Lisa always made my work outs fun and challenging, she never gave me the same routine so I was never bored and surprisingly was excited for our sessions. Lisa has lead me to my best body. Aside from the physical changes in my body, training with Lisa has taught me to be consistent and never give up. I used to never be concerned with nutritional information or how unhealthy certain foods were, id eat anything for the temporary satisfaction. Lisa has taught me tons about nutrition and how to eat clean and make healthy eating choices to the point where now I regret eating anything unhealthy, and will often feel sick after! Training with Lisa has completely changed my view on health, fitness and nutrition. I have learnt the importance of taking care of my body, and I now enjoy working out and challenging myself on a daily basis. I am amazed at the changes I have seen in my body, the first day of training with Lisa I could barely do 1 push up and now I have built the strength physically and mentally to push myself through 40 pushups straight. At first I honestly didn’t think I would stick to training for longer than a month, but Lisa has made it so enjoyable that I began to crave it. Lisa has shown me that being healthy is a lifestyle and not a temporary diet or change with a dead line, and I have her to thank for my new healthy lifestyle.
