How I Ended Up Exhausted, Bloated, and Running on Caffeine (And Didn’t Even Realize It)

There was a point in my life where bloating wasn’t just uncomfortable — it was something I planned my entire day around.
I remember standing in my closet every morning, automatically reaching for tights or leggings. Not because I wanted to, but because I knew that by midday, anything with a waistband would feel unbearable. Pants that fit in the morning would feel tight, restrictive, and almost painful by the afternoon.
My stomach would swell so much that I constantly felt self-conscious. Sitting at my desk? Uncomfortable. Driving? Uncomfortable. Coaching my clients in studio? My unease in movement was the worst! Even workouts didn’t feel the same anymore.

And the hardest part? I started avoiding foods — not because I was dieting, but because I was afraid of how my body would react. I’d skip meals, eat the same “safe” foods over and over, or delay eating entirely because bloating had become something I feared instead of a signal I listened to.
At the same time, my energy was in free fall.
I was surviving on caffeine pills, pre-workouts, and coffee just to feel functional. I’d wake up already tired, reach for stimulants to push through my morning, crash by mid-afternoon, and then reach for more just to finish the day.
What I didn’t fully realize at the time was how deeply connected all of this was.
The constant pull toward stimulants didn’t just affect my energy — it destroyed my sleep. Poor sleep made my digestion worse. Poor digestion made my energy worse. And the cycle just kept repeating.
As a health professional, I knew better — but like so many women, I told myself:
“This is just what being busy feels like.” “This is just part of being a mom.” “I’ll deal with it later.”
But feeling bloated every day isn’t normal. Needing stimulants to function isn’t sustainable. Crashing every afternoon isn’t a personal failure — it’s a sign your body needs support.
What I eventually learned (and now see constantly in my clients) is that gut health is foundational. When digestion is compromised, your body struggles to:
Absorb nutrients properly
Regulate energy
Maintain hormone balance
Support consistent mood and focus
No amount of discipline, “clean eating,” or pushing harder can override that.
My wake-up call came when I realized I wasn’t just tired — I was depleted. And instead of fighting my body, I needed to start supporting it.
That shift changed everything.
If any part of this resonates with you — the bloating that dictates your clothes, the food fear, the reliance on caffeine, the constant exhaustion — I want you to know this:
You’re not broken. You’re not weak. And you’re not alone.
I see you — because I’ve been there.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to share exactly what I changed, how I rebuilt my gut health, and the supplements that helped me break out of that cycle in a realistic, sustainable way.
This isn’t about extremes. It’s about giving your body what it’s been asking for all along.
And the best part, it doesn't take a lot of effort to implement this into you busy day, because mama, I see you, I've been there - I enjoy things easy to implement and add into my already busy schedule!
