The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: My Real Experience With GLP’s

Last week, we talked about why GLP-1s will only take you so far…
How relying ONLY on things like Ozempic or Mounjaro — without a foundation — is where most women get stuck.
👉 Plateaus👉 Frustration👉 Feeling like your body is working against you
So this week, I want to get real with you.
No fluff. No filters.
My experience — the good, the bad, and the ugly.

When My Body Stopped Responding
About a year ago… something felt off.
And the frustrating part?
I was doing everything right.
Working out
Lifting weights
Eating well
Drinking my greens
Hitting my protein
And STILL…
👉 I gained 10lbs.
Now for reference — I’m 5’2.So that 10lbs?
Yeah… it hit hard.
The Moment That Pushed Me Over the Edge
I went to my doctor expecting answers…
And what I got was:
“Lisa, you’re almost 40… this is normal.”
I’m sorry… WHAT?!
You’re telling me I should just accept that my body is changing like this…Even though my habits haven’t?
Hard no.
Taking Control (And My First Wake-Up Call)
So I did what I tell all of you to do…
👉 I took ownership.
I hired a coach and got to work.
And the first few months?
They were eye-opening.
I realized:
I was overtraining (hello cortisol 👋)
My body was stressed
I needed to actually pull back to move forward
I dialed in my nutrition HARD:
Tracking
Weighing
Being intentional
And guess what?
👉 I lost 5lbs.
I felt good.
I felt back in control.
And then…
The Plateau Hit
No matter what I did…
👉 The scale wouldn’t move.
And if you’ve ever been there, you know how frustrating that feels.
You try harder. You tighten things up even more. You push your body further.
…and still?
Nothing.
Enter Peptides
This is when I started exploring peptides.
Not casually.
I went ALL IN:
Research
Podcasts
Studies
I wanted to understand exactly what I was putting into my body.
And after doing that?
I decided to try Retatrutide.
The Results
Within ONE month:
👉 I dropped another 4lbs 👉 I finally saw under 130lbs 👉 I looked leaner 👉 I felt stronger 👉 My energy went UP
And the best part?
I could actually SEE the muscle I had been working for.
But Here’s What Really Matters…
I didn’t stay on it.
Because I don’t believe in relying on something forever.
I believe your body sometimes needs:
A reset
Support
A push in the right direction
So after 4 weeks…
👉 I stopped. I want to highlight that 4 weeks was the right amount for me. Each body is different and each person's goals are different.
What Happened Next (This Is Important)

Drumroll…
👉 Nothing.
No rebound weight gain No crash No spiral
Even after TWO vacations.
Why I Didn’t Gain the Weight Back
Because I built the foundation FIRST.
I didn’t rely on peptides to do the work.
👉 I used them to SUPPORT the work I was already doing.
That’s the difference.
A Different Kind of Support
A few weeks later, something else caught my attention…
The Arbonne GLP-1 Support Drink launched.
And I was immediately intrigued.
Because this wasn’t about forcing change.
It was about supporting your body.
What I Noticed (And This Surprised Me)
Within 2 weeks:
👉 Down another 1.5lbs
But what stood out even more?
My behavior changed.
My cravings shifted
I wasn’t reaching for sugar
I actually wanted healthier foods
My energy felt stable
This wasn’t forced.
It felt natural.
The Biggest Lesson I Learned
If you take anything from this, let it be this:
👉 It’s not ONE thing that works👉 It’s the combination
Foundation first.Then support.
Not the other way around.
So What Does This Mean For You?
If you’re:
Doing everything right but not seeing results
Feeling stuck in a plateau
Thinking you need something “stronger”
Pause.
Because the answer isn’t just adding something new…
👉 It’s making sure your foundation is actually solid.
What’s Next?
In the next post, we’re going to make this personal.
What’s right for YOU
Should you go medical or natural
Should you combine both
And how to actually get results that LAST
Final Thought
You don’t need more effort.
You need the right combination.
